The Power of Superposition

Instead of solving for new integration constants at every switch event, we track the response components globally:

  • ZIR izi(t): The initial energy present at t=0 decaying through all future circuit topologies.
  • ZSR izs(t): The response to the input injected later, assuming initial energy was zero.

Interactive Parameters

Mathematical Formulation

iL(t)=izi(t)+izs(t)

Zero-Input Response (ZIR):

izi(t)={2.0et/2.0,0t<2.00.736e(t2.0)/1.0,t2.0

Zero-State Response (ZSR):

izs(t)={0,0t<2.02.0(1e(t2.0)/1.0),t2.0

The total current (green) is the exact sum of the ZIR (blue) and ZSR (orange) components.
